An Update + Dior Fashion Designs that reflects the 18 century

Hi Lovelies! How are you doing? School is back in session plus I have so much personal stuff that I have to take care of I feel like my head is going to explode! lol.. so I hope you’re at least doing better then me ^^~

But anyways, over the labor day weekend, I was not able to do anything with my videos because I was out running trying to find my new car. Especially with the school starting and everything, I really need a car >_<!!!! so yeah. Super inconvenient right now. Also, there is a possibility that I might move, although I think it’s not that likely because I DON’T WANT TO MOVE. I’m so tired of moving and in a way start my life over again with new location, new job new everything~~~~ >_<~ if you have a moment, pray that everything will work out for me! Thanks! <3 <3

As for deco, I actually did make a couple already but did not have time to take picture of them yet. so hopefully tomorrow night I will be able to finally update my deco’s! hehe..

I been so busy that I did not have time to watch my dramas~~~~~ Kinda missing them now~

Alright, just wanted to throw in a quick post so you know that I’m still there!

Last but not least, I want to show you some awesome somewhat recent fashion photos that resembles the 18th century fashion! I love 18 century fashion, they’re so beautiful. Of course, the new fashion designs are awesome as well!

From Christian Dior 2007 Fall Couture

This red one perhaps don’t reflect the 18th century fashion that much, but I really like it!

Which one was your favorite?

Nine West Wowza Sandals

So this weekend, I went shoe shopping at Macy's and bought these super fun Wowza sandals (also available in gold) from Nine West. They look so good on my feet that the $79 price tag didn't really faze me. But it sure stung later that day when I saw my new shoes on ninewest.com - for $32 cheaper!

Now, if it was only a $5, $10, or $15 difference, I might have just cursed my bad luck and got on with my life. But $32 is a different story. So I went back to Macy's, returned the sandals and then bought them online when I returned home. I even managed to find a free shipping coupon code, so I made out like a bandit.

Only down side is that I have to wait about a week to wear my cute new kicks.

Rent The Runway Giveaway!

How many times has this happened to you?

There's a special occasion on the horizon and you've got nothing to wear. So you search and search (and search some more) for the perfect dress. Except you never find it, and you end up settling on a dress that's event appropriate and looks halfway decent because you've run out of time and going naked isn't an option. So once you've donned the so-so dress, it gets banished to the back of your closet - never to be worn again because, frankly, you were never truly in love with it to begin with.

Story of my life. Maybe my problem is that I'm a celebrity - in my own head - who hates to wear the same special outfit twice. Or perhaps it's that getting all dolled up in a fresh frock is so damn fun.

So a few weeks ago as I planned a blog business trip to NYC, I was literally trippin' about my lack of wardrobe options. After an exhaustive search for the perfect ensemble, I was almost ready to settle on this sad sundress hanging in my closet...until I remembered Rent The Runway, a website were you can rent designer dresses and accessories.

Here's how it works: Search the dresses and accessories you love from over 100 of the top designers in the world. Schedule a delivery date. Select a FREE backup dress size for the perfect fit. The dresses and accessories are yours for 4 or 8 days! When you’re done looking cute, put your order in the pre-paid package and drop it in the nearest USPS mailbox. They take care of the dry cleaning.

Since I'm petite with an hourglass figure, finding a dress that fits is the proverbial needle in a haystack. So as I perused Rent The Runway's selection, I opted for the India Paisley Dress from Tibi (left)- thanks to the short length and adjustable straps. The dress also has hidden boy shorts underneath, which was an added bonus. And if you rent a second dress, it's only $25. So I also chose this By The Lily Pond Dress by Yumi Kim (right) - just in case the Tibi dress was a bust. If you're particularly concerned about fit, there are great user reviews - or you can chat with a "fit specialist."

To complete my outfit, I rented these gorge Kendra Scott Danielle earrings in Turquoise. It pained me so much to return them that, this weekend, I broke down and bought them at the designer's website (and scored 20% off with promo code PSW20 - expires 7/5).
Oh...and I forgot to mention that Rent The Runway just announced that they have Lancôme products available for purchase!

The Tibi dress (in the smaller size) ended up fitting great - and, as you can see, I paired it (and my Kendra Scott earrings) with a Talbots cardigan, Aldo sandals and Banana Republic fedora.

I had such a great rental experience that I want to give Spoiled Pretty readers the opportunity to try it too. So I'm partnering with Rent The Runway on a fash-tastic giveaway, and one lucky lady will win a $100 gift card!!!

To enter, visit Rent The Runway and sign up for membership (it's free!). Browse the dress selection, pick your favorite and tell me (in the comments) what you picked and where/how you'd rock it. Be sure to post your email, Twitter handle (make sure you're following @spoiledpretty so I can DM you) or some other way for me to get in touch if you win. To be eligible, you must reside in the Continental U.S.

Contest ends on Friday at 5pm ET. I'll announce the winner then. Good luck!

*A gift card was provided for review and this giveaway is sponsored by Rent The Runway.

OMG I Just Bought...

I don’t know about you, but when I go shopping and find something really awesome, I can’t wait to tell everyone I know because a) I want others to be as impressed with my shopping prowess as I am and b) I want my friends to purchase that item too – so they can share in my retail euphoria. When someone compliments something I’m wearing, even though I know "Thank you" would suffice, I launch into a soliloquy – rattling off the designer, where I bought it, how much I paid and the coupon I used (I’m a coupon crazy nut).

If you’re like me and love to spill the deets on your shopping feats, here’s a website to add to your Favorites list...

At OMG I just bought… you confess your most recent purchases for a chance to win weekly prizes from your favorite stores. How fun is that?

I just posted about my recent fedora purchase at Banana Republic and about the super cute flats I scored this past weekend at DSW. Go me!

40% Off at Banana Republic

For a few weeks, I was eyeing up a fedora at Banana Republic. While Mr. Spoiled Pretty and I were shopping there one day and I was waiting for him to pay for his khaki shorts, I perused the racks and tried on some hats. I always thought fedoras were a little pretentious in an "I'm trying hard to look effortlessly hip" kind of way - so I was shocked by how hard I fell for this hat. But I wasn't crushing on its $45 price tag (I'm cheap).

So I left the hat in the store - and that bastard haunted my dreams for weeks - until I returned to the store and adopted it. In fact, I bought two different styles (the ones pictured) because I was equally smitten and couldn't make a decision to save my life (I'm a Libra, so this happens quite often). Lucky for me, my co-worker had given me a coupon for 30% off - so my purchase wasn't such a big blow to my wallet. But to be honest, I wear these fedoras so often that even if I had paid full price, it would have been worth it. They up the cool factor of almost any outfit - and I get at least one compliment (from friends and strangers on the street) every time I wear them.

The reason why I'm telling you all this is because Banana Republic is having a "Power Lunch" sale today. For three hours, you can get 40% off your full-priced purchase - in stores and online (enter promo code BRPOWER at checkout). So if you've been eyeing up anything at Banana, now's your time to pounce.

You're welcome...and happy shopping!

Fashion Design VS Interior Design

Hi Lovlies~ As you know I am starting to take my first fashion class. Of course in the beginning is not going to be as exciting since we’re learning all the fundamentals. Though I was expecting the class to go a bit faster. The only good thing about the slow pace is that I feel no pressure what so ever taking this class. However I also feel like I am wasting time because it is going so slowly.

Last night, my hubby mention if I should study interior design instead of fashion design. Omgish, it totally got my head going. This was the question that I been debating for a long time. At the end I choose fashion because... well I couldn’t choose! I know for a long period I always think fashion design is my dream. However, I am actually very interested in all things related to design. After already earning a B.A. ( that i don’t find very useful...) I really feel like whatever I am going to study better be of good use!!! Going to school again meaning spending $ again, on all the materials and textbooks. Every penny I spent I ask myself: if this is going to be worth it?

Since I just started going back to school, I think pondering about the path that I’m going is a must. Did I make a right decision about fashion ? Or should I go with Interior Design instead?

My goal is to able to have a career of my own. I plan to have children so I am hoping my career is something useful either in a company or self-employed. I am also hoping it’s not going to be too crazy of a job. I think design will definitely fascinate me but in general I am not a work-aholic.

I don’t personally know any fashion designers. Although I do know an interior designer. As far as I know she doesn’t earn that much money but her work hours seems to be ok normal. From what I see online, it seems that fashion designers’s career can be more crazy?! Also the money factor is also important. Since I love design either way, I need to choice the path that makes more money. Or easier to make money. I have a feeling either one doesn’t make that much, unless I become the lucky few who becomes someone great in it.

Lately I also been occupied with learning computer design related softwares. So I thought about Graphic design or Web design. But the thought of solely working with computers makes me feel mentally tired. I think it’s so much fun to work on something hands on.

So what is your suggestion for me? Do you know anyone in design field and their feeling and experience with it? Any suggestion will help! thanks! =)

Le Col Cashmere Giveaway!

I don't know what the weather is like in your neck of the woods – but these days, Philadelphia is pretty much indistinguishable from the Arctic tundra. It's the kind of cold where you pile on whatever is warm – no matter how frumpy dumpy it makes you look. Lucky for me (and my sense of style), I recently became acquainted with a cold weather accessory that is both toasty warm and tres chic!

Le Col Cashmere is an affordable luxury, made of 100% cashmere and finished by hand in a traditional French torsade pattern. The updated twist on the winter scarf provides even more comfort than the standard cold weather accessory due to its construction. The tube scarf’s seamless "pullover" style, as opposed to the standard wrap-around scarf, provides full coverage and protection. So whether you're riding the streets on your Vespa or simply out for an afternoon stroll, Le Col Cashmere's snood will keep you toasty warm on even the most blistering cold days.

"In addition to its practical sensibility, the product is non-gender specific and therefore appeals to both men and women who are looking to show off their personal sense of style during the winter months," explains Ruben Auszenkier, Le Col Cashmere co-founder and General Manager Europe.

The must-have style of the season is available in two equally comfortable and flattering silhouettes – the signature Le Col Cashmere snood and Le Grand Col Cashmere's extra long snood - and five gorgeous shades (I own the camel).

You can own one too because, this week, Spoiled Pretty is partnering with Le Col Cashmere and one reader will win a Le Col Cashmere snood in his/her choice of color!!!

Enter to win by leaving a message in the comments section. Make sure to include your email or another way for me to get in touch, just in case you get lucky!

Contest is open to U.S. residents. The giveaway ends at noon (EST) on Sunday, February 20, 2011. Good luck!
