As the first product to be launched in Twilight Beauty’s new Luna Twilight cosmetic line, this concoction is a two-phase moisturizing lip stain that features a venom-laced lip conditioner on top and an intense shimmering crimson stain on bottom. These two elements can be used separately but work best when shaken together to blend. Control the color by using a little stain for a light lip flush or dab a drop of pure dark red for the full vampire effect.
“We are very excited to partner the best-selling technology behind the Venom products with the Twilight saga,” says Cristina Bartolucci, founder and Creative Director of DuWop. “In the movie, venom is the means by which Stephanie Meyer’s mortals become transformed into vampires. With a customizable ruby stain, Twilight Venom can let you play the part!”
Key ingredients such as argan oil, avocado oil, olive oil and Vitamin E leave lips looking and feeling lusciously soft. Argan oil is exceptionally rich in Vitamin E and essential fatty acids and is noted for its anti-aging effects. Both avocado and olive oils have regenerative and moisturizing properties to make lips supple. DuWop’s special venom blend of essential oils, including cinnamon, wintergreen and ginger, increase circulation and cause blood to rush to the surface of the lips, plumping them slightly.
Timed with the release of the latest installment of the Twilight series from Summit Entertainment, New Moon, Twilight Venom ($16) will be available September 15, 2009 at Dillards.com, Nordstrom.com, and TwilightBeauty.com. It is available NOW at sephora.com.
Brace yourselves, fellow Twilight fans...DuWop is unveiling its Twilight Lip Venom ($16) a few months early, but for a limited time (vampires may live forever, but this offer won't).
Be transformed. Let the alchemy transcend.
This special limited edition Lip Venom is a sneak preview of our highly anticipated Twilight Venom, debuting this Fall. Lip Venom V is not your typical DuWop venom. Instead of a gloss, this is a shimmering crimson lip stain suspended in a venom-laced liquid lip conditioner with a super potent bite (watch out!), and contains argan, avocado, olive oils and vitamin E.
This product should be shaken before use to represent the blending of the human and vampire worlds and applied repeatedly until lips are plumped, revitalized and the desired intensity of color has been reached.
Only a limited number of Lip Venom Vhave been produced. Due to limited quantity and exclusivity of this offer, limit 2 per customer. Offer applies to one order per customer per household. Quantities limited. This one-time special offer ends July 31, 2009 at midnight (EST) or while supplies last.
It's no secret that I hold a torch for Kim Kardashian's makeup. So it was a total treat to learn that Mario Dedivanovic, Kim's talented MUA, just started a blog today. That's right...today. I'm quick. When it comes to Kim-related news, I don't mess around.
For the simplest smoky eye, you just need one product...DuWop Shadowlift. No brushes. No fussing. No kidding.
Just apply a small dot of Shadowlift in Surf (sheer taupe) onto the center of the eyelid. Then blend inward toward the nose, outward, and a smidge above the crease. Dab, don't rub. And voila...a smoky eye so chic that it looks like you had help. Well, technically you did, but I won't tell.
I'm rockin' this look right now...and I don't have to tell you how haute it looks. It's just a shame that I'm wasting it sitting at my parents' house, typing on my laptop. Anyway...
As a bonus, while you're going about your day/night looking smokin' hot with your simple smoky eye, Shadowlift's anti-aging and skin perfecting ingredients are hard at work - oxygenating, nourishing and toning the delicate eyelid area.
Ten years after the debut of their runaway sensation Lip Venom, DuWop has created a formula that brings the same results to the cheeks. Cheek Venom is a conditioning blush that contains a blend of silicones and hyaluronic acid to hydrate and condition as well as firm and tighten the skin. It creates a natural flush by stimulating circulation, and has the same cinnamon-y scent as Lip Venom and Prime Venom.
In honor of its name, Cheek Venom comes in two shades: Sidewinder, a gorgeous nude flush, and Diamondback, a hot coral pink.
Typical lip plumpers are a little one note – don’t ya think? A bee stung mouth covered in gooey gloss screams, "These aren’t my real lips!" Luckily, DuWop has the answered your plump pout prayers.
Prime Venom is a matte finish plumping lip balm infused with the Lip Venom formula that also works as a lip primer. This matte balm leaves conditions lips while acting as a primer to help lipsticks go on smoother and last longer - as well as plumping the lips for a matte finish pout. It also flushes the lips with natural color, so that you don't have to wear lipstick at all if you choose not to.
Prime Venom contains macadamia nut oil, prized for its long lasting, moisturizing properties and the now famous blend of essential oils including cinnamon, ginger, and wintergreen that put plumpers on the map.
If you’ve never dabbled in DuWop before, get thee to Sephora and pick up the Discovery Kit, a set of five DuWop makeup must-haves. The kit includes a full size version of Lip Venom - as well as miniature versions of Amber Eyes (an eyeshadow palette with a base amber shade, a deeper version, and a cream liner), Blush Therapy in Hug, Venom Gloss in Lantana, and Lash Lacquer mascara in Carbon Black. The products are packaged in the cutest reusable train case.
Cult favorite Lip Venom has been named the best lip plumper by Sephora, Good Housekeeping, and Elle - but to be honest, it’s a bit too aggressive for my liking. Then again, I have sensitive skin and I don’t need much enhancement in that area.
My personal fav of the bunch is another award winner, Blush Therapy. After only using it once, it became my #1 cheek color choice. The cream glides on like a gel, but dries to a sheer velvety powder. It blends effortlessly and the finished result more closely resembles a natural flush than shiny gel stains or regular powder blush. And to top it all off, literally, it has aromatherapy oils built into the cap.
Blush Therapy’s latest award is a spot on my Best of Beauty 2007 list. It was also one of the products I used to achieve my New Year’s Eve look. On my next trip to Sephora, I definitely plan to purchase in at least two more colors.
I still don’t have any plans for NYE. It might be a quiet, romantic dinner with my hubby. Or a raucous celebration with friends at a bar. Or I might just sit on the couch and blog my way into the new year. Whichever it is, here’s the makeup look I will be rocking.
I didn’t have a particular look I was going for. It really just started with Diane Brill’s Liquid Eye Liner in Lace Diamonds – and evolved from there. I didn’t expect to go so over-the-top. But once I started, I found it hard to stop…hence, my glittery glamtastic eyelids that rival the Times Square Ball in sparkle.
Once I finished piling it all on, I was afraid it was a little too Amanda Lepore for my liking. But it has since grown on me, and I hope you’ll agree that it looks quite pretty in pictures.

Step Three – Cheeks: Dot DuWop Blush Therapy (in Hug) on apples of cheeks, then blend with fingertips.
Step Four – Highlighting: Dot Freeze 24/7 Freeze & Go down the bridge of the nose and on cheekbones, then gently tap with pad of finger until blended.
Step Five – Lips: Finish off the look with a few swipes of MAC Lustreglass – I used Budding, but I think it’s been discontinued. Venetian is somewhat similar, but tad bit deeper – though still sheer.
That’s the recipe. I hope you had as much fun reading about the look as I had creating it! If you're looking for more NYE makeup ideas, my friend Marina at Makeup Loves Me has a bunch.
So with that, I’m going to conclude this post with the immortal words of my man, Prince. Every NYE, you’re bound to hear “1999” at least a couple times, so allow me to introduce you to another oldie, but goodie – a little ditty Prince recorded with Sheena Easton. Remember her? "Sugar Walls"? Okay, now I'm showing my age. Just watch the video.
I’m the type of woman who carries her beauty arsenal with her at all times. Judging from the size (and weight) of my handbag, this should come as no surprise. So when I’m heading out for cocktails with friends, to a wedding, or dinner with my hubby, it’s always a struggle to fit all of my products in my cute, petite purse. Over time, I’ve learned that you needn’t sacrifice style just because you have to sacrifice space. The secret? Travel sizes and multi-purpose products. Here are a few of my favs…
