Kim Kardashian's Maxim Hot 100 Makeup

For last month's Maxim Hot 100 party, Kim Kardashian rocked gorge emerald eyes. On his blog, Kim's makeup artist, Mario Dedivanovic, posts about the products he used to create the look.

He writes:

Hey guys… For the Maxim Hot 100 event, Kim wore an all while dress and the hair was pulled back so I definitely wanted to use a little bit of color on her eyes and green is my favorite color. I really like how this look came out on her and it photographed beautifully. When using a color on the eyes, keep the cheeks and lips soft and pretty. Here’s how to get the face…

Skin - Mat Velvet + Matifying Foundation by Make Up For Ever in Neutral Beige. GIELLA concealer in #2. Set the face and under the eyes with Make Up For Ever HD translucent powder.

Eyes - Golden Olive Pigment by MAC on lids. Humid Eye Shadow by MAC in the crease and blended on the lower lashline. Electric Edge Liquid Eyeliner Marker Pen by Calvin Klein in Electric Black on the upper lid and winged out a little on the outer corner. GIELLA Dazzle Eye Pencil on the inner corners (tear ducts) and on the inner rim of the eye. Two coats of L’Oreal Voluminous Mascara in Carbon Black, top and bottom lashes.

Cheeks - Rock & Republic Contrived Pressed Blush in Call Me on the apples of the cheeks. Apply Summer Affair Bronzing Powder by Calvin Klein framing the face lightly.

Lips - No lip liner. Just a clear gloss ;) Let me know how it comes out if you try it!

Iconic Unisex Fragrance CK One Relaunches

The iconic unisex fragrance ck one relaunched today - and a special limited edition fragrance bottle packaged with an mP3 speaker is now available for purchase at Macy's.

The idea behind relaunch of the ck one fragrance is about bringing people together, regardless of their differences in age, culture, race or gender. It's about coming together, through the common and universal language of music.

The limited edition fragrance retails for $50.

Calvin Klein Secret Obsession Now Available at Macy's

By now, you've likely heard about about the racy Calvin Klein Secret Obsession commercial starring Eva Mendes (her nipple makes a cameo). But here's something you probably haven't heard...

Though the fragrance isn't launching till fall, Secret Obsession is available now at Macys.com. This is the only place you can get the fragrance before it's on-counter.

Secret Obsession is an intoxicating floral oriental fragrance weaving together forbidden fruits, exotic flowers and a sultry wood signature for a provocative and addictive sexiness.

Notes include exotic plum, mace, rose de damas, Egyptian jasmine, French orange flower, tuberose, cashmere wood, burnt amber, vanilla and sandalwood.

Eva Mendes Is The New Face Of CK Fragrance

Actress Eva Mendes will star in an ad campaign for an as-yet-unnamed Calvin Klein fragrance, which will debut in Fall 2008.

Said Tom Murry, President & COO, Calvin Klein, Inc., "Eva exudes an effortless and unpretentious sensuality which is perfectly in line with the Calvin Klein brand DNA."

The Wait Is Over: Calvin Klein Beauty at Sephora.com

Calvin Klein’s new beauty line is now available at Sephora.com. These color cosmetics for the face, eyes, lips, and nails are priced between $10 and $32.

From the looks of the Calvin Klein Beauty page on Sephora, I wasn’t the only one anxiously awaiting its arrival. Many colors are already listed as “temporarily out of stock” – which could mean Sephora is still waiting on shipments, or some over-enthusiastic beauty junkies are giving their credit cards a workout.

Unluckily for me, the Delicious Luxury Crème Lipstick in Fusion (I fell in love with this bold fuchsia/red shade after seeing it in January’s Allure magazine) is nowhere to be found on the website.* This alluring hue (see, left) is simply stunning - so I'm determined to hunt it down. You know what they say about nothing good coming easy.

Fashion. Fragrance. And Now, Face.

In 2003, Calvin Klein discontinued its line of minimalist makeup and skin care; and beauty junkies around the world mourned the products’ passing. But like a phoenix rising from the ashes, the Calvin Klein color cosmetics line is back – and better than ever.

"We wanted to link makeup back to fashion," said Kevin Carrigan, Creative Director of ck Calvin Klein beauty and apparel. In creating the 200 new products for Spring ’08 (including 27 foundations), the ck Calvin Klein team took inspiration from the runway and the way that color and texture were used in the collections; then they translated them for the face.

According to the website, "Fabrics are reinterpreted – black cashmere becomes a smudge of eyeliner, and slick patent is transformed into a sexy lip gloss." Moving forward, the collection’s direction will be guided by what's going on in fashion. Makeup artists will be called "stylists" - and, each season, they'll be looking at all the latest runway images for new ideas on how to apply the products.

The new beauty line, currently available in Europe and in select stores in the U.S., launches nationwide at Sephora in January.

Mariah Has Another Hit, And Wins Two New Fans

This past Labor Day weekend, my mom and I went to the mall in search of new perfume. Currently, I have L'Instant de Guerlain, Hanae Mori Butterfly, Vera Wang Princess, and Comptoir Sud Pacifique Vanille Abricot on heavy rotation…and I was looking for something lighter. My mom, already bored with the Calvin Klein Euphoria my Dad bought her for her birthday, was also looking for something different.

Unfortunately, neither of us found a new signature scent. But we did manage to find a fragrance that we both agreed on.

When I sprayed M by Mariah Carey (a collaboration between the singer and Elizbeth Arden) on the tester strip, I didn’t expect much. My Mom didn’t even want to smell it, explaining that she “doesn’t care for Mariah.”

We both assumed the scent would be somewhat strong and garish – like its namesake. But to our surprise, M was light and creamy, inviting and refined.

Perfumers Carlos Benaim and Loc Dong describe the inspiration for the fragrance:

“By combining two very contrasted notes, an exotic Tahitian Tiare flower with a deliciously warm marshmallow, we wanted to express Mariah's utmost femininity and undeniable sensuality in one strong statement. We then incorporated other facets, such as a Moroccan Incense Amber accord, to bring an element of mystery that lingers on skin. This harmonious balance of Mariah's favorite scents and memories is at the heart of this creation."

M by Mariah Carey is available in stores and online.
