As you probably know, I just moved. It was a very stressful experience, considering Mr. Spoiled Pretty and I had about three weeks prep time and we have way too much stuff. Okay, I'll be honest...it's just me who has too much stuff.
Packing and unpacking your life's possessions is just one of the most annoying and tedious jobs of all time, and I am so glad to be (almost) done with it. But I have to say that there's a silver lining to the moving experience - shopping, which I've been doing a lot of lately. Bed Bath & Beyond, HomeGoods, TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Kohls, Pier 1, Walmart, Target and Lowe's and I have been like this the past few days - and my Visa is still smokin'.
One of my other favorite pre-move destinations is Bath & Body Works. I just love their products - fabulous quality for not a lot of money. That's the best type of shopping. And don't you just love how Bath & Body Works always seems to be having a sale? Every time I go in there, the salesperson is all "Today, you can get four of these for the price of three...and we're going to throw in a product from our Signature Collection for free." Um, yes please.
Anyway, I was in there last week and I discovered their new Summer Vanilla Collection. Vanilla is my absolute favorite scent, so I had to give these products a whiff. The three fragrances - Berry Vanilla, Coconut Vanilla and Lemon Vanilla - smelled so delish, I threw all three Anti-Bacterial Gentle Foaming Hand Soaps into my mesh bag. The sinks in my home are always accompanied by a Bath & Body Works anti-cac soap, so this turned out to be a very productive trip.
In addition to the anti-bacterial hand soaps, the Summer Vanilla Collection also includes cooling mist, fragrance mist, shower gel, body lotion, lip gloss and candles. Get on this, girls.

Bath & Body Works Healthy Clean Kitchen Collection
Bath & Body Works just launched the Healthy Clean Kitchen Collection – a range of hand washes, sanitizers and hand lotions specially designed for use in the kitchen. A breeding ground for bacteria and unpleasant odors, the kitchen is a place where clean hands are a must. So Bath & Body Works developed a collection of cleansing anti-bacterial products that not only kill germs, but also eliminate lingering cooking smells like garlic and onion - all while infusing hands with fresh, clean fragrances like crisp citrus, lush fruit and fresh-cut herbs.
The antibacterial formulas also protect and replenish skin as they refresh, nourishing kitchen-worn hands. Each of the following odor-fighting, germ-killing essentials is available in Sunburst Tangerine, Crisp Cucumber, Pure Vanilla and Ginger Pear fragrances:
Anti-Bacterial Gentle Foaming Hand Soap: Specially designed to fight germs and eliminate odors for healthy, clean hands in the kitchen, this gentle yet powerful formula kills common kitchen bacteria with trusted anti-bacterial agents while Fresh Source™ odor eliminators get rid of lingering cooking smells. An exclusive blend of moisturizing coconut milk and olive fruit extracts helps to nourish and soften skin, while mango fruit extract leaves hands gently cleansed and conditioned.
Anti-Bacterial Deep Cleansing Hand Soap: Get a powerful deep clean in the kitchen with this bacteria-fighting formula. Developed with Fresh Source™ and potent germ-killers, the deep cleansing soap employs exfoliating microspheres and cleansing bamboo extract for smooth, soft, ultra-clean hands. A moisturizing blend of honey, coconut milk and olive fruit extracts nourishes and softens.
Anti-Bacterial Hand Gel Sanitizer: While powerful anti-bacterial agents combat germs and Fresh Source™ fights odors, moisturizing Tahitian Palm Milk leaves hands feeling clean and conditioned with this instant gel sanitizer.
Moisturizing Hand Lotion: Developed to eliminate odors while nourishing kitchen-worn hands, this hydrating formula includes Vitamin E, Macadamia Oil, Oat, Apple and Grape Seed extracts to condition and soften. Fresh Source™ gets rid of lingering cooking smells as the formula moisturizes, leaving hands hydrated and freshly scented.

Bath & Body Works Creamy Body Wash Being Reformulated

I made a beeline for a helpful saleswoman, who calmed me down and assured me that they would be back on shelves soon.
Totally jonesing for my my beloved body wash and unsatisfied with the vague timeline given for its re-release, I emailed my contact at the company. She informed me that they are being reformulated with a triple moisture complex moisturizes skin all day and also shows visible improvement in skin's radiance and feel. While the old stock is still available on bathandbodyworks.com, the new batch will hit stores around October 15th.
Thank heavens for small miracles. You're welcome, fellow Creamy Body Wash fiends.

All American: Bath & Body Works American Grown Collection

"What happened to the Bath & Body Works soap we always use? I like that stuff," he said.
So, the next day, I swung by my local Bath & Body Works store (holler at the Liberty Place location) on my lunch break and picked up two bottles of their Anti-bacterial Gentle Foaming Hand Soap in Japanese Chinese Blossom and Warm Vanilla Sugar.
Now that our stock is almost depleted again and it's time for me to replenish the soap supply, Bath & Body Works fortuitously debuts a new line that I'm sure will satisfy my spoiled spouse.
American Grown is a collection of hand soaps and body gels inspired by great American destinations. Formulated with invigorating botanicals grown in the U.S., American Grown products condition, rejuvenate and stimulate the skin. Packaged in big, bold and colorful bottles, each hand soap and shower gel transports you to the American locale from which it draws its name.
In honor of my Libby, Montana-born/Spokane, Washington bred husband, I think I'll add the Montana Sky and Washington Apple hand soaps to my shopping list. Products are also available in Napa Grape (we honeymooned there), Siesta Key Lemon and Savannah Mint scents. American Grown hand soaps retail for $6.60 and shower gels will set you back a mere $12.50.
Graham, you're so vain...you probably think this blog post is about you.

New Foaming Body Wash at Bath & Body Works!

Lucky for me, Bath & Body Works was having a sale: buy 2, get 1 free (Signature Collection). So after I tossed the body wash and lotion in my basket, I set out to find a third product that would be the charm. When I came across a display for the brand spankin' new Foaming Body Wash, I knew I'd found it.
The Signature Foaming Body Wash gently cleanses skin, leaving it fresh, clean and lightly fragranced. High-foaming and oil-free, this nourishing formula soothes with apple and oat extracts so skin feels soft, conditioned and ultra-pampered. It's basically my favorite hand soap, in a body wash formulation. Available in six fragrances, I picked up a bottle of the Coconut Lime Verbena. I suggest you do the same.

Recessionista's Fabuless Pick of the Week: Liplicious 2-in-1 Moisturizing Lip Color & Sugar Scrub

I'm a beauty blogger, which means I test a plethora of products. So it's not very often that I come across something so fun and ingenious that it makes me giddy. Bath & Body Works Liplicious 2-in-1 Moisturizing Lip Color & Sugar Scrub has me giddy and smacking my lips. And what's more? Normally $12, B&BW has slashed prices - so now you can buy two 2-in-1 Moisturizing Lip Color & Sugar Scrubs for the price of one!
Peep the directions: Smooth dull, dry lips with this delicious brown sugar scrub once a day and lick off the remaining sugar. Then, apply luscious lip color to moisturize.
Don't you just love it? You don't wash or tissue off the sugar scrub. You lick it off. Sweetness! When I read the instructions, I totally flashed back to what Veronica Sawyer says to Heather Chandler outside the Remington party: "Lick it up, baby. Lick it up!"
Besides the fun of licking the sugar scrub off your lips, Liplicious 2-in-1 Moisturizing Lip Color & Sugar Scrub does a great job of buffing scaly, winter lips. And the Pomegranate/Brown Sugar Scrub combination has a gorgeous dusty-rose pink lip moisturizer that I'm loving right now. The lip color is actually quite long-lasting. The other night, I applied it before bed and I awoke looking much cuter than I typically do at 7:30 in the morn.
Liplicious 2-in-1 Moisturizing Lip Color & Sugar Scrub is available in Pomegranate, Candied Apple, and Coconut Truffle. Yum...makes me wanna lick my lips.
100% Pure Kids Line at Bath & Body Works

One of my new favorite brands, 100% Pure, has a new line for the kiddies. Sold exclusively at bathandbodyworks.com, products include 2-in-1 Hair & Body Foam, Body Cream and Bubble Bath in yummy scents like Strawberry Ice Cream.
The line is made from the highest quality, organic, all-natural ingredients to give skin all the nourishment it needs; no synthetic chemicals, harsh detergents, artificial fragrances, toxic preservatives or any other harmful ingredients that can irritate sensitive skin are used.
And because the future belongs to the children, all 100% Pure Organic Kids formulas are biodegradable, feature labels printed with soy ink, and come in recyclable packaging made mostly from post-consumer recycled plastic, glass or aluminum. Plus, the entire collection is vegan, natural and food-based, with no ingredients or products that are tested on animals.

100% Pure Amuse Bouche Leaves Me Craving More
If you’re a foodie and/or a fan of Bravo’s Top Chef, you’re likely familiar with the term amuse-bouche. An amuse-bouche is a single, bite-sized hors d’Ĺ“uvre - served to excite the taste buds, to both prepare the guest for the meal and to offer a glimpse into the chef's approach to cooking.
This culinary expression was the first thing that came to mind when 100% Pure sent me some one-use samples of their products. I fell hard and fast for the Organic Virgin Coconut Nourishing Body Cream, which worked wonders on my desiccated skin. The scent is so yummy fantastic that I thought to myself, “the world would be a better place if everything smelled exactly like this.” Even Mama Spoiled Pretty, who complains that my favorite scents are too cloying, said that Organic Virgin Coconut Nourishing Body Cream smells good enough to eat. Ironically, it doesn’t remind me, at all, of coconut…fresh baked oatmeal cookies is more accurate. Mr. Spoiled Pretty thinks it smells just like “buttery rolls, right out of the oven.”

So where was I going with this review? Oh, yes…amuse-bouche. The tiny packet of luxurious lotion left me wanting more - a full-sized bottle of the Organic Virgin Coconut Nourishing Body Cream, accompanied by the Organic Virgin Coconut Shower Gel and Body Scrub, specifically. I’m looking forward to future explorations of this brand, and I enthusiastically encourage you to do the same.

In The Bag Summer Beauty Giveaway: Beach Bag

The weather forecast says 88 and sunny, not a cloud in the sky. After an exhaustive search, you’ve found the elusive “perfect” swimsuit. And you’ve picked out a trashy read, with no literary value whatsoever. So you’re ready for the beach, right? Wait. Not to burst your proverbial bubble, but you’re not all set yet.

To ensure that you’re pretty and prepared for your day at the beach, remember to bring along the following must-haves for your beach bag:
* Sunscreen: When selecting a sunscreen product, be sure to read the label before you buy. Experts recommend products with a sun protection factor (SPF) of at least 15. The SPF number represents the level of protection against UVB rays provided by the sunscreen…a higher number means more protection. The two most common (and painful) sunscreen mistakes are using too little and waiting too long to reapply. About 1 ounce of sunscreen (a palmful) should be used to cover the arms, legs, neck and face of the average adult. For best results, most sunscreens must be reapplied at least every 2 hours and even more often if you are swimming or sweating. Products labeled "waterproof" may provide protection for at least 80 minutes even when you are swimming or sweating. Products that are "water resistant" may provide protection for only 40 minutes. And don’t forget your lips, especially if you’re a lipgloss fanatic like me. Many dermatologists say that slathering on glosses can increase your risk of developing skin cancer because shiny nature of the gloss could be making the sun’s UV rays hit harder. So if you’re going to grab for a gloss, make it one with at least SPF 15.
* Wide-brimmed hat: A hat with at least a 2- to 3-inch brim all around is ideal because it protects areas often exposed to the sun, such as the neck, ears, eyes, forehead, nose, and scalp. A baseball cap is also a good choice. A hat not only protects from the sun's intense rays, it can also cover and tame wind-blown hair.
* Sunglasses: The ideal sunglasses don’t have to be expensive, but they should block 99% to 100% of UVA and UVB radiation. Check the label to be sure they do. Some labels may say, "UV absorption up to 400 nm." This is the same as 100% UV absorption. Also, labels that say "Meets ANSI UV Requirements" mean the glasses block at least 99% of UV rays. Those labeled "cosmetic" block about 70% of the UV rays. If there is no label, don't assume the sunglasses provide any protection. Large-framed and wraparound sunglasses are more likely to protect your eyes from light coming in from different angles.

In The Bag Summer Beauty Giveaway: Gym Bag

If you read my last post, you know that, this afternoon, I took a trip to TJ Maxx. What you probably don't know is that I went there on a mission to find new athletic attire.
You see, I recently joined a gym. After a long hiatus, I'm back on the scene - and I have to admit that I'm feeling a little zafdig next to all of the resident hard bodies. So until I slim and trim my body, I've resorted to hiding underneath some sporty outfits. Trying on the gear was a workout in and of itself cuz I'm majorly sore from my personal training sesh yesterday. But I found some cute separates, so I'm ready to head back tomorrow.
What I didn't need to buy, however, was a stylish gym bag. More on that in a minute...
So what are the necessities for your gym bag this summer? Obviously, you'll want to pack items like a towel and an mp3 player. But I also recommend that you also include a few key beauty essentials...so that, post-gym, you won't have to take your sweaty, smelly self straight home. Give your credit card a little workout and stock up on the following:
* If your hair is normal to oily, I'd recommend taking along travel-sized shampoo and conditioner. If your hair is dry/damaged/color-treated, then you might want to carry a dry shampoo or a product that revives your style.
* If you shower at the gym, you'll need some sort body wash and facial cleanser. Many gyms have those basic amenities. But if you're reading this, you're a beauty junkie...and you don't want no generic toiletries. You're better off bringing along some deep-cleaning products that will clear your pores of dirt, oil, and sweat.
* Odor may be a sign of an effective workout, but I think you'll agree that it's far from fetching. Deodorant is a no brainer. No?
*Spritzing on a light, fresh fragrance is also a nice precautionary measure - especially if you forgo a splish splash in the gym shower.

Today is day two of our In The Bag Summer Beauty Giveaway Week, so I'm spoiling you pretty with this lovely Lug gym bag.

The Puddle Jumper Gym Bag was featured on Oprahs "O List" and is a must-have for any active individual. Stuff it solid with items galore! From your ipod, glasses, pens, papers, clothing, bottles, cosmetics, etc., even throw your stinky sneakers in the back separated ventilated pocket! This bag represents functionality at its best while not compromising your sense of style!
For the winner, this bag will be accompanied by the following goodies:

Ojon Revitalizing Mist: This alcohol-free, leave-in conditioner detangles, refreshes and reactivate your style without washing. With a revitalizing fragrance, it neutralizes odor as it moisturizes and preps the hair for restyling. It's also a great moisturizer for the skin!

Neutrogena Rainbath Shower & Shave: As a body wash, this fresh, marine-scented gel is enriched with ingredients that clean and moisturize your skin without leaving behind a heavy residue. As a shave gel, the silky lubrication helps your razor glide smoothly over your skin while soothing aloe helps prevent dryness and irritation. This clean-rinsing formula won't build up on your razor—or your skin.

Clean & Clear Deep Action Refreshing Gel Cleanser: The icy gel turns into a foaming lather that instantly cools and invigorates your skin as it dissolves dirt and oil trapped deep in your pores.
After washing, it leaves your skin feeling refreshed and revived, with the unmistakable tingle of a really deep clean. Completely oil-free, rinses clean, and won't clog pores.

Clean & Clear Oil Absorbing Sheets: Softer than paper, these silky sheets leave your skin feeling refreshed by instantly removing excess oil and shine from your face, without smudging makeup or leaving behind powder.

Bath & Body Works Body Splash in Enchanted Orchid: This lighter, casual fragrance is perfect for fragrance layering or enhancing the fragrance effect of previously applied products, such as body lotion. Notes include Calypso Orchid, Pink Grapefruit, Waterlily, Crisp Apple, Fresh Gardenia, Vanilla Orchid, Heliotrope, and Creamy Amber.

Goody Ouchless Detangling Comb: Flexible teeth slide through wet or dry hair without snags or pulls. Easy does it with this gentle approach to soft, manageable hair.

Secret Flawless Antiperspirant/Deodorant: Performs in more ways than any other anti-perspirant. It has strong protection, goes on clear, has self-renewing fragrances, it's smooth and lightweight, and has skin-nurturing conditioners.

I'm Bringing Anti-Bac...Yeah!

I’ve heard that antibacterial body products and toiletries are bad because they give rise to super-germs. I’m no M.D., so I don’t know how true this is. But I’m willing to live dangerously – because I love Bath & Body Works Anti-Bacterial Moisturizing Hand Soap. It doesn’t leave my hands parched and flaky like most hand washes - thanks to green tea extract (soothes), shea butter (moisturizes), and Vitamin E (nourishes).
And if you hate the soap clumps that sometimes accumulate in and around your sink, try the Anti-Bacterial Gentle Foaming Hand Soap. No mess!
The soaps are available in 26 scents - I’m partial to the Coconut Lime Verbena (kitchen) and Warm Vanilla Sugar (bathroom), and Mr. Spoiled Pretty likes them too. But the Black Raspberry Vanilla is sounding delish, so I might give that one a try.
If you are new to the products, or just need to restock – click this link for an in-store printable coupon. Get a FREE anti-bacterial product with a $10 minimum purchase. Offer is good though March 30th.

Don't Be Tempted

At a company holiday party last week, the conversation turned to beauty products – as it usually does when I’m around. Two coworkers told me the same harrowing story – okay, maybe I’m being a bit melodramatic, but it wasn’t a good story.
Both women recently paid a visit to their local Bath & Body Works and were tempted into purchasing items from the Holiday Temptations line (not a surprise, given the yummy packaging). After taking the products home and using them, they were taken aback by the stains left on their tubs and towels.
We never got around to discussing how well the products work, but let’s be real – a shower gel had better get me squeaky clean (and wash away my cellulite) if it's going to stain my shower.
