English actor Stephen Graham, who starred alongside Johnny Depp and Christian Bale in "Public Enemies", has signed on to "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides".
Graham will star alongside Johnny Depp (Jack Sparrow), Penelope Cruz (Blackbeard's Daughter) and Ian McShane (Blackbeard) in the fourth installment of the franchise by Disney, and will play a Machiavellian pirate named Scram, who became the sidekick of Depp's Jack Sparrow, in search of the fountain of youth.
Director Rob Marshall ("Memoirs of a Geisha," "Nine") will direct from the script co-written by Terry Rossio and Ted Elliott, who wrote the previous "Pirates" franchise. Jerry Bruckheimer will produce.
Shooting is scheduled to begin this month in Hawaii, and will be released in May 20, 2011.
