Rowan Atkinson's starrer, Johnny English, the incompetent titular British spy, is back for a new assignment, announced Universal Pictures.
Universal is collaborating with London-based Working Title Films to produce the sequel to the 2003 comedy, which grossed a total of $160 million worldwide.
Oliver Parker ("St. Trinian's, St. Trinian's 2," "Dorian Gray") is set to direct Johnny English 2 from the script written by Hamish McColl "Mr. Bean's Holiday."
Atkinson will be reprising his role as the clumsy and clueless British spy, setting on a new misadventure.
Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner of Working Title are co-producing with former Working Title exec Chris Clark. Debra Hayward is overseeing the project for the company.
