Katie Couric Names New Talk Show "Katie"

She’s making the move to her own show, and Katie Couric's new ABC talk show will be titled, simply, “Katie.”

The folks over at ABC released some artwork for the new program, with the tagline to read “The Opportunity Begins September 6th.”

Couric’s new show will premiere in the fall of 2012 and according to Disney/ABC honcho Anne Sweeney, “It will capture the zeitgeist of what people are talking about.”

Sweeney continued, “It will be serious at times, obviously informative and fun. Really, a mixture of things we hope people will be interested in. It’s not going to be a news show, but we’ll be talking about the news and issues that I think people care about, whether it’s bullying or the effect technology has on our kids.”
