Miley Cyrus and Demi Moore are in talks to play mother and daughter roles in the English-language remake of the French 2008 original "L.O.L.: Laughing Out Loud." Sophie Marceau and Christa Theret starred as mother and daughter in the original movie.
Director/Writer Lisa Azuelos, who wrote and directed the original, will write and direct the remake.
The French version which earned $20 million, is about a 15-year-old girl who was dumped by her more sexually experienced boyfriend, and decides to pursue his best friend. Meanwhile, her 40-year-old mother is struggling to move on after her divorce. The stormy mother and daughter relationship reveals a typical relationship between mother and teenage daughter.
Michael Shamberg and Stacey Sher of Double Feature Films will produce the movie, while Romain Le Grand and Nathan Kahane will executive produce.
