Mel Gibson is in negotiations with Universal Pictures to star in spy thriller "Cold Warrior," which Shane Black who directed Robert Downey, Jr. starrer "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang," will direct.
The movie which was written by newcomer screenwriter Chuck Mondry is about a spy from the Cold War era who comes out of retirement to team with a younger agent from the new school to confront a domestic terrorism threat orchestrated by Russia.
Michelle Manning "The Eye" will co-produce with David Greenblatt and Anthony Bagarozzi.
Gibson reportly told Daily Variety that he is hoping to segue to "Cold Warrior" in June.
