Ginnifer Goodwin ("He's Just Not That into You," "A Single Man") is in negotiations with Alcon Entertainment-based 2S Films to star as a Manhattan attorney who becomes involved with her best friend's fiance following her 30th birthday in new romance movie "Something Borrowed."
The movie's script was written by Jennie Urman "Lipstick Jungle," adapted from Emily Giffin's debut novel of the same name. Luke Greenfield "The Girl Next Door" is set to direct.
Hilary Swank and Molly Smith will co-produce through their 2S Films banner alongside Alcon's Andrew Kosove and Broderick Johnson, and Wild Ocean Films' Aaron Lubin and Pamela Schein Murphy.
Shooting is being fast-forwarded to spring and summer.
"Something Borrowed" marks the second collaboration between 2S Films and Alcon. Their previous collaboration, a romantic comedy "P.S. I Love You," grossed more than $150 million worldwide.
